At all my cross community classes, in TULLYGARLEY (Ballymena), ANTRIM, KILREA ………..  students are able to paint what they wish, using whatever art medium they wish!

Watercolours …… Oils ……. Acrylics …… Pastels …… Pencils ……. Pen & Wash …… & more!

 

Also enjoy ‘PAINTING DEMONSTRATIONS’ by myself, tutor & artist Louise Lester ……… in various mediums. This way you are shown how to use a new medium before you try it yourself, or learn some new tips and techniques helping you improve using your favourite medium!

Art Demostration

‘Acylics’ Demo – Done in ‘Enjoy Painting’ Class

Demo Time- 2hrs over two weeks

‘Daisy’
For this demo I showed how you can create a beautiful subtle textured background to a simple painting, by using various mark-making techniques!
It was great fun and very simple to do, and gave the delicate ‘Daisy’ a lovely backdrop!

Ballymena Artist and Art Tutor- Louise Lester of LLCrafts will be holding TWO ‘Enjoy Painting’ Art Workshops in MARCH at Galgorm.

- Saturday 23rd March …… using PEN & WASH Workshop Painting

and

- Saturday 30th March …… using ACRYLICS

Both Workshops are 5 Hrs (11-4pm) ……….. ONLY £30 each ……….. fantastic hobby for anyone! All are very welcome to join any of my workshops…… BEGINNERS & EXPERIENCED artists.

Why not try a different art medium, with a step-by-step painting process. Each person will paint the same painting along with myself and by the end of the day every student will have a beautiful finished painting to take home, and you can even buy an accompanying frame at the workshop.

Inspiring Students on Start-Up Business

While teaching at the NRC ‘Northern Regional College’ as a part-time lecturer in Sept 2012, myself, Ballymena Artist Louise Lester, was given the fantastic opportunity to talk to the ‘Art & Design’ students about how to start up and succeed at running your own business.

I started my ‘LL Crafts – Hand Painted Crafts & Gifts’ business in 2001 and running my own ‘Enjoy Painting’ Art Classes, along with part-time ‘NRC Teaching’ enabled me to relate easily to the students.
My aim was to inspire the students to believe in themselves and think it is possible for them too, as I myself was once an NRC ‘Art & Design’ student in this same college, before moving onto the ‘University of Ulster’ to graduate with a BA Hons Design Degree and then put my first steps out into the business world!

LLCrafts Fundraising

Alongside running my ‘LL Crafts’ and ‘Enjoy Painting’ businesses, I get great satisfaction applying my art to helping ‘Charity Fundraisers’. It is fantastic being able to support local good causes or charity events.

For anyone holding a ‘Charity Fundraiser’ in the UK or Northern Ireland, I am very happy to donate an ‘LLCrafts Painting Print’ for a raffle or an auction.

‘Facebook’ is one of the avenues where people can contact me for a craft donation – by liking my Facebook LLCrafts page. You can follow my FB page, see my crafts and artwork, and view some of the crafts that I have donated in the past.

Some great charity events that I have recently donated to have been- Action Cancer NI / Laura Lynn Sunshine House (Childrens Hospice) / Cancer Lifeline / Autism & ADDNI …… and many more very worthy causes.

Newspaper Article – LLCrafts & Ahoghill Display

Time to say CHEESE for the photographer!!

It was an honour for my small Northern Ireland business ‘LL Crafts‘ to have been asked to contribute to the beautiful ‘Britain in Bloom‘ Ahoghill Creamery Display

and it was fantastic to see ‘Ballymena Artist Louise Lester’  included in this great newspaper article, shown on the front page of the ‘Ballymena Times’

It was lovely being photographed with the 88year old Samuel Johnston, whose family owned the old Ahoghill Creamery, cutting the red ribbon ……. along with ‘Ahoghill Traders Association’ members and ‘Britain in Bloom’ judges, who all offically opened the Ahoghill Floral Displays.

LLCrafts – Part of Ahoghill ‘Britain In Bloom’ Display

Community Project for ‘Britain In Bloom’

It was absolutely wonderful for ‘LL Crafts‘ to be involved in a great community project with Ahoghill, for the floral competition of ‘Britain in Bloom’. I was very kindly asked to hand paint ‘Three Milkchurns’ and a large ‘Butter Box’ for the focal point of a beautiful ‘Creamery Floral Display’ …… celebrating the ‘Old Creamery’ that, in its day, was once the heart and soul of Ahoghill’s everyday community life.

The whole display has turned out fantastic and it is a real credit to the ‘Ahoghill Traders Association’ and all the volunteers who erected the display and who lovingly maintain it.

Beautiful detail on the top of ‘Butter Box’ …. painted to look similiar to the old-fashioned blocks of butter.

 

So, it really was a pleasure to be part of this great community project and i thoroughly loved hand-painting the milkchurns and butterbox on display………. and i wish Ahoghill lots of ‘GOOD LUCK’ with the ‘Britain in Bloom’ awards.

Knitting For Charity

LLCrafts Donates Knitted Jumpers to Third World Country Charities

In our spare time and as part of our fundraising efforts, we love to knit little jumpers and donate them for needy children in Third World Countries. Its a great worthwhile hobby, perfect for ‘de-stressing’ and anyone can knit them!

The wee jumpers are so simple to knit, just knit and pearl stitching, using any colours and with six jumper sizes to knit, perfect for all knitters . Our group of seven knitters, ladies of all ages, just love clicking away!

Look for a charity shop in your area, who would be very happy to receive your jumpers.

We hand our jumpers into a few local charity shops- Drop Inn Ministries in Ballymena and Bridge of Hope in Portglenone.

So, catch the ‘knitting bug’ for a worthy cause and try giving to someone who needs your help!
